Petroleum Exploration
The primary objective of petroleum associations in a country are to publicise, promote and advance the interests of the oil and gas exploration industry in New Zealand.
This includes:
* Participating in policy and legislative initiatives to foster an environment conducive to the exploration industry.
* Promoting industry awareness on environmental and safety issues.
* Publishing information on the exploration industry.
* Collecting and sharing information on the industry.
* Organising and presenting seminars on topics of interest to the membership.
* Articulating the industry's position on matters of common interest, for example:
o Land Access Issues
o Health & Safety issues
o Environmental issues
