Activities

Industry Issues:

Key activities the association undertakes include involvement in policy decisions under the above legislation regarding:

 * Health & Safety Issues: The development of an industry code of practice on health and safety issues.
 * Petroleum Regulations: Participation in the development of the regulatory environment.
 * Local Government: Direct participation in the annual planning process especially in geographical areas where the industry is most active.
 * Works closely with regulatory agencies (in particular, the Ministry of Economic Development) on issues of concern to the industry.
 * Oil Pollution Advisory Committee (OPAC):  represents the interests of the industry on OPAC, the body responsible for marine oil spill preparedness and response.
 * Climate Change: follows this issue closely as it is a matter of great interest to the industry.
 *  Ocean Policy
 * National Energy Efficiency & Conservation Strategy
